From the very beginnings of ISLA, the community has embraced a "culture of giving". As a charter school, the sense of community and a shared responsibility for our children's well-being has been woven into the schools DNA from day one. There are many great things at ISLA, and chief among them is this wonderful community. That comes from the many people who volunteer throughout the year, whether it is for an hour or the entire school year, that time is valuable to both the children and yourself.
Ongoing research shows that family engagement in schools improves student achievement, reduces absenteeism, and restores parents' confidence in their children's education. Students with involved parents or other caregivers earn higher grades and test scores, have better social skills, and show improved behavior. Research also points to benefits to the volunteer themselves.
Please consider volunteering and supporting ISLA and the ISLA community. If you are unable to volunteer, the ISLA PTO is always looking for more donations, please consider a financial donation if volunteering is not an option. Both your time and your donations, in any amount, are valued and appreciated.
Thank you for making ISLA such a wonderful place for our children.
